The Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness is pleased to announce that, from 1 October 2024, Janice McLaughlin (Newcastle University) and Gareth Thomas (Cardiff University) will be the new Editors-in-Chief for the journal Sociology of Health & Illness (published by Wiley). Janice and Gareth will lead a team of editors: Sally Brown (University of Edinburgh), Nicky Hudson (De Montfort University), Tim Huijts (Maastricht University), Sarah Nettleton (University of York), Ellen Stewart (University of Glasgow) and Ros Williams (University of Sheffield). Catherine Hyland will continue in her role as the journal’s Managing Editor.
We thank the current Editors-in-Chief Karen Lowton (University of Sussex) and Flis Henwood (University of Brighton) and the wider editorial team: Laia Bécares (King’s College London), Gillian Bendelow (University of Brighton), Sarah Nettleton (University of York, who continues with the new editorial team), Sasha Scambler (King’s College London), Catherine Will (University of Sussex), Ben Fincham (University of Sussex), Catherine Theodosius (University of Brighton) – and Shadreck Mwale (University of West London) and Gillian Love (University of Sussex) (book review editors) – for their outstanding achievements and hard work in the role over what will be a 6-year term.
